Businesses Discuss World Trade
Organization Membership
The
Windward Islands Chamber of Commerce
and the Windward Islands Commercial
Association will hold a meeting in
Mindelo on Monday, August 22, opens
to all of the business operators in
Cape Verde’s northern islands. The
objective of the meeting is to
analyze the process by which Cape
Verde intends to join the World
Trade Organization, with a highlight
on the government’s proposal to
alter the legal framework for
foreign trade and the move’s
possible impact on commercial
activities throughout the
archipelago.
During the meeting Cape Verdean
government officials will introduce
the business operators present to a
number of aspects related to Cape
Verde’s bid to join the World Trade
Organization. They also intend to
hear the opinions and suggestions of
the entrepreneurs in order to help
them formalize the proposal they
intend to submit to the executive
for approval.
The meeting will also be used to
analyze the potential impact of the
measures proposed by the government
aimed at improving the economic
activities of companies operating in
the sector of trade in Cape Verde.
