Kuwaiti firm wants
to build 5-star hotel in capital
Kharafi Holdings of Kuwait is
seeking to invest in Cape Verde and
wants to build a five-star executive
hotel in Praia, the company’s Africa
director, Mahmoud Shehata said
Thursday.
Speaking after talks with President
Pedro Pires, Shehata said his
company is seeking land to build the
hotel and that he used his meeting
with Pires to express interest in
investing in other sectors of the
islands’ economy.
The Kuwaiti company is also
interested in areas such as water
and energy. Shehata said Cape Verde
was attractive for business due to
its climate, good governance and
democracy.
